Ride for Roswell Beer & Gears - May 30thhttp://buffalofirefighters.org/extinguisher

Ride For Roswell season is in full swing. Join us for Beers & Gears at Buffalo RiverWorks on May 30th! Beers & Gears is a great opportunity to kick off your Ride for Roswell fundraising campaign while enjoying drinks at some of WNY’s coolest breweries.

  • $20 gets you two drink tickets that will then be credited to the riders’ fundraising page of your choice (it can even be your own!).
  • Buffalo Professional Firefighters Local 282 will also be on site for our "Extinguisher" Release Party!  A portion of the proceeds from our Extinguisher sales will benefit Local 282!

Drink tickets may be redeemed for draft beers and well drinks! 100% of ticket proceeds will benefit Ride For Roswell.

  • 3 lucky attendees will also become winners! If your drink ticket has a sticker on the back, you’ll win a Riverworks gift card!

This free, all-ages event is open to the public! There is no admission price. Drink tickets can be purchased at the event.

Memorial Breakfast - June 16th

The Buffalo Professional Firefighters will again be hosting the BFD Memorial Breakfast on Father's Day, June 16, 2024. The Committee is looking for donations from each Fire Company or "Fire Office". As an incentive, we will present the company/office that gives a basket or gift certificate that collects the most auction tickets at the Memorial Breakfast a $200 Wegmans gift certificate.

If a company\officer wishes to give a cash donation, the committee will go out and purchase items for a basket for you, but you will not be put in for the prize option. You will, however, be given recognition at the event of your donation.

Keep in mind that all Buffalo Firefighters get into the Memorial Breakfast for free due to 2% funds. There will be breakfast provided, balloon and face painting artists, gifts for all fathers in attendance, and gifts for all children under 12.

Please call Terry LaRusch at 716-856-4130 or email: tlarusch@local282.com with questions regarding the breakfast or donations.

Tier 6 Correction

The enacted state budget includes a change to how pensions are calculated. Under the new law, a Tier 6 employees' pension will be based on their top 3 years of earnings instead of 5 years. This change will increase retirement security for Tier 6 employees and make Tier 6 look more like earlier pension tiers.
