June 8th,1901 Fireman O'Donnell of Engine Co. 13 Died in the Line of Duty while returning from a fire at 194 Delaware Ave. Fireman O'Donnell was filling in for the regular driver of the steamer when he suddenly fell from his seat while turning onto Staats St. O'Donnell struck the ground before being run over by the rear wheels of the heavy steamer apparatus. O' Donnell was taken to the Emergency Hospital where he died of his injuries.
