January 28th,1907 Fireman Meegan of Engine Co. 8 Died in the Line of Duty while operating at a 3+ Alarm Fire at Box 29, The HooDoo Box at 101-107 Seneca St. While operating a hose line from the roof of a neighboring building, a collapse of the 8 story building buried the crews of Engine's 4 & 8. After 2 hours, 10 men had been dug out of the rubble, however 3 remained missing after a roll call was taken. It took 17 hours to locate the bodies of the missing men. Fireman Meegan had just came on duty and made his way to the fire just 15 minutes before the collapse.
