November 7th, 1928 Fireman Thompson of Ladder Co. 4 Died in the Line of Duty while operating at a smokey basement fire at 471-475 Elmwood Ave. Fireman Thompson did not exit the building after an evacuation order was given and was found unconscious by Fireman Supple on his second entry to rescue missing members.
