June 2nd, 1919 Foreman Roland of the Supply Stables Died in the Line of Duty from injuries previously received in the performance of his duties. Foreman Roland was kicked in the head by a horse he was tending to in the Supply Stables at Court and Staats Sts. on June 1st and gravely injured. He died the next morning. Foreman Roland's wife petitioned the council for a death benefit for her and her children. Mrs. Roland received $25 a month for her and $5 a month for each child.
