October 9th, 1924 Fireman Hoelcle of Engine Co. 22 Died in the Line of Duty of Injuries previously received on October 8th while responding to an Alarm of Fire at Genesee and Ivy. Fireman Hoelcle was thrown from the apparatus after it was struck by an I.R.C. Trolley Car at Miller Ave. and Sycamore St. 3 other members of Engine 22 were injured in the crash.
