November 7th, 1928 Fireman Byers of Ladder Co. 4 Died in the Line of Duty while operating at a smokey basement fire at 471-475 Elmwood Ave. Fireman Byers was not known to be missing, but he was located unconscious in the basement by Fireman Supple when he was searching for another missing member.
