September 30th, 1967 Lieutenant Wood of Engine Co.34 Died in the Line of Duty after being stricken while operating at an auto fire at 2704 Main St. Lieutenant Wood served 18 months with the U.S. Navy teaching Firefighting at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center During World War II.
